Terracotta world

Day 69 - An Bang

We decided we should see something of the local area rather than just hang around the beach so we caught a Grab to the Thanh Ha Pottery Village near Hoi An. They had mini terracotta replicas of famous monuments around the world, including the Sydney Opera House. There was a museum with pottery from the many different pottery villages around Vietnam, and about archaeological sites around the area where they had excavated ancient pottery.

We then went into the old town of Hoi An and wandered the streets and bridges until we were caught in the rain. We sat it out in a coffee shop, then explored a little more as the sun came out and the temperature jumped. We decided that the beach was a better place to be in the heat so we headed back just as another downpour started.

We waited that out and before long the sun was out again, so we headed to the beach for lunch and a swim. The beach was quieter than yesterday, probably because it was overcast and there was still a chance of rain.
