Day 2 - Ole!

Dubai to Madrid - Hostal Patria

The flight from Dubai to Spain was pretty easy .... a daytime flight of 7 or so hours, piece of cake!

From the airport we caught the train to our hotel which is in a main street very close to Puerta del Sol, considered to be the centre of Madrid. There is a plaque called Kilometre Zero where all roads across Spain are measured from, so we were in a great position. 

It was very warm, so after setlling in we walked down to El Palacio Real, then found a place for tapas and a drink of cerveza before getting an early night to hopefully shake off the jet lag.

You can tell we spend a lot on accommodation by
the quality of the paintwork on that window frame.
