Huanchaco to Piura
Today we hit the road again, we had debated about staying another day or so in Huanchaco as we did like it but the weather still wasn't quite warm enough, it was pleasant during the day but quite chilly when the sun set, hard to believe that we are further north than Cairns but it still isn't that warm.
We caught a bus that would take most of the day to get to Piura where we would spend the night before heading to Máncora, our destination the next day. This time the bus wasn't quite what we had expected, there was much less room and it seemed to stop at every small town along the way, making the trip a lot longer than we expected. You would think we would be so practiced at these all day bus trips by now but they seem to be getting more irksome, not easier. One of the worst things we've found on the South American buses is the loud, crappy movies that play continually at earsplitting volumes.
Once again there were soaring condors aplenty along the way, we can't believe we woke up at 2.30am not so long ago to see them when they are everywhere along the coast - but then again without that trip we probably wouldn't know what we are looking at.
Our arrival at Piura was a bit of a shock to the senses after the quiet relaxed vibe of Huanchaco, we were back to the blasting continual overuse of car horns, and it was warm and humid as well - hopefully we are heading for some nice beach weather.
